Westminster Ponds Centre

As a team of three, we redesigned the interior of the Westminster Ponds Heritage building to provide the client, Reforest London, with the Sustainability Centre of their dreams. We focused on creating a functional, aesthetic, and interactive space for all individuals to enjoy. Our design will actualize a completely barrier-free, all-inclusive, and highly sustainable interior, fit for an ever-exposing non-profit foundation. This redesign revolves around user-friendliness, sustainability, and community, making this center a true companion to all nature and people. The Lorax is a fluffy orange creature that is concerned with the wellbeing of all the plants and animals whose lives are affected negatively by environmental degradation. The Lorax was a source of inspiration for the centre because he speaks for the creatures and “the trees”; He wants to make sure that all aspects of nature are not destroyed by mankind. With this concept, the centre will also honour the importance of the honeybees that are on the site, as the bees help with pollinating all the plant species around the Forest City, and they, alike the Lorax, work together with plants and creatures in nature to enhance our environment.
